In these days full of robotic animals, video games, and animatronic dolls (I’m looking at you, Chucky!) it is getting harder and harder to find those simple, basic toys that every generation of kids enjoys.
In this class, we will be making Lincoln Logs. A classic toy that helps develop skills in motor control, cause and effect, and the ancient art of silently swearing in the dark when you step on things that shouldn’t be in the middle of the living room floor.
The best part about these logs is that once you have the technique down, you can adjust sizes, and make custom pieces which you can’t buy anywhere!
Each student in the class will be able to make their own set as a gift for a child in your life (or your own set for that upcoming second childhood). The amount of logs depends on the sizes each student decides to make.
This class is not designed for children. This is a class in the wood shop, and we will be using the router, table saw, hand saws, chop saw, chisels, and other sharp and pointy things.
